Life According to Herman: Trails

snail

Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. - Ephesians 5:1-2

Hello, all! I suppose my last post must have been acceptable, because Shelly once more is allowing me to share my thoughts with you.

My last post made for quite the sticky keyboard. You may not have noticed, but we snails tend to leave a slime trail wherever we go. It's not something we choose, it's just something that happens because we are what we are.

Shelly thought she'd never get the snail trails removed from the keyboard. I didn't envy her the task, but I did have quite an important insight as I watched her work to remove those glistening pathways.

My insight is this: We all leave trails.

It's not something you choose, it's just something that happens because you are a Christian. People notice. Some will follow. And the paths we leave on other's hearts may be nigh impossible to remove.

Mind your trail.

Dear Lord, help others to see Jesus in us. Help our trail to be full of love and mercy, and may it always lead to You. In Jesus' Name, Amen...

  1. Glad to see your return Herman. It is a very valid observation about our trails we leave for people to follow or try to cover up. It makes me look back as I have returned to faith to see if I am leading people to God or my own selfish desires. It is a hard look but I think one necessary in my current growing experience.

  2. I missed you Hernan! And your insight about leaving trails is so very true.
I pray that the trails which I leave upon people's hearts and lives would point them to the love of Jesus and not to me♡♡♡

  3. Herman, you are a very wise snail indeed - (not to mention pretty adorable, too). I like what you had to say here, very good advice. Especially this: "Mind your trails." Isn't that the truth?! More than anything, I want people to see Jesus in me. And this is my heartfelt prayer, too.

Thanks for the great reminder! I sure hope to see you around more in the future!

    GOD BLESS!
