– Hebrews 5:7
One True God
I come to you today with so much on my plate. So much on my heart and mind.
I’ve tried, Father, to wrestle this out on my own, I really have.
Please forgive me for not coming to You, first and only.
Lord I know that Your ways are not burdensome. Your yoke is easy, your burden is light.
I come to You now to find rest for my soul. Water that will make me never thirst again. Light that will chase away every hint of shadow.
Please, God, accept my full surrender.
I surrender my body to You. Every ache and pain, every inch and jiggle.
I surrender my family to You. Who else could love and care for them as You do? Not even I, as much as I love them.
I surrender my ministry to You. It’s Your ministry, after all… Your seed, Your kingdom.
I surrender my finances to You. I seek You first, and trust You to provide.
I surrender my relationships to You, God. Please soften my willful heart and help me to forgive. Mend wounds, and restore fractures. Help us to draw closer to each other as we draw closer to You.
I surrender my past to You. You know every heartache, every shame. You have nailed them all to the cross. Thank God.
I surrender my present to you. Take my fears and bathe them in the glory of Your truth and Your presence.
I surrender my future to You, God. Whether it be fifty years or fifty seconds, I want only for it to belong to You.
As I close this prayer, Father, I feel the peace that only surrender to You can bring. Thank You for this peace. And for Your Son.
In His Name, Amen…
