A Thank You to the Prophets

Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place—until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shines in your hearts. – 2 Peter 1:19

Thank you for words that flicker like flame

in this place, so dark,

for giving me something to walk toward.

Did you know that your message would be glowing wisps of hope

in a world that stifles with its suffering?

You show me how to breathe again.

I can’t help but wonder if the Spirit showed you

how bright your proclamation would be…

cutting through the centuries with a laser focus.

One day the dawn will rise

in a bloom of glimmer so blinding and beautiful

that it will dwarf all other light.

I will see you on that day.

I will thank you with a hug.

I will touch my candle to yours,

and together we will shine Christ.

What a day that was, when you first struck the spark.

What an awesome gift to pass down through the ages.

The only way I can thank you… or thank God for you…

is to join in the lighting of this world.

Dear God, how I look forward to that beautiful Dawn and the Morning Star! Until then, help us to pay close attention. Help us to show others the way.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen…

  1. Can hardly wait until they day we meet and greet…..meanwhile, although you have been suffering intensely this week, your online light is still shining brightly, encouraging others, as always.
Truly, on that day, you will hear: WELL DONE, good and faithful servant.
