It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him. – Hebrews 11:6
Life with chronic illness, pain, and disability is a life fraught with change, insecurity, frustration, and fear.
Do you ever find yourself doubting whether God cares? Whether he really even hears you when you call out to Him and find only silence as response? I know I have those moments.
The verse above reminded me today that this very belief is an integral part of faith.
Because anyone who wants to approach God…Yes, please.
must believe both that he exists… That’s the no-brainer part, right? If that was all that was involved in this faith thing, I’ve got it locked down already.
and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him…anyone else hear the sound of squealing brakes? What was that, Lord?
It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him.
Do you want to please God? I know that I do! Then we must have faith. It is impossible to please God apart from faith.
And what does this faith entail?
1. Believe that God exists.
2. Believe that God cares enough to respond to those who seek Him.
I’m working on that second part, because I realize the two can’t be separated. And my greatest desire is to please my God.
Are you with me?
Our God exists. Our God cares enough to respond. Are we seeking Him with this faith?
Dear God, thank You for Your Word that convicts and edifies us. We love you, and we wish to please You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen…

Glad I’m not the only one, Beth! Love you! Heart Hugs, Shelly <3
I’m still working on the 2nd part and had a weekend of being a little mad at God but of course He is ALWAYS good and He gently reminded me of that. 🙂

I totally get that the second part is hard Shelly- so I am petitioning God on your behalf.
I mentioned words in Psalm 23 that goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of our lives – so a habit I have developed over time is to say loudly to God : this is NOT GOODNESS AND IT’S NOT MERCY Lord, so what’s it doing in my life
May there be a verse that will bring breakthru for YOU dear Shelly.
Micah 2.13:The One who breaks open the way will go up before them;
they will break through the gate and go out.
Their King will pass through before them,
the Lord at their head.” NIV
Then I, God, will burst all confinements
and lead them out into the open.
They’ll follow their King.
I will be out in front leading them.” Message
I love to pray scripture as God is watching over it faithfully to perform it and His word never returns to Him void.
Let me know if this verse speaks to you.
I stand in agreement with you in this: Believe that God cares enough to respond to those who seek Him.
He cares, indeed he cares.
God Bless.
xx
Both of the verses you mentioned are a blessing, Mary. Thank you for your thoughtfulness! Heart Hugs, Shelly <3
