Questioning the I AM

God replied to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. Say this to the people of Israel: I AM has sent me to you.” – Exodus 3:14

I’m prone to asking questions. The worse things get, the more insistent the questions become.

Questions about the past.
Where were you? Why did you allow it?

Questions about the present.

Are you here?

Questions about the future.

What’s coming? What will I do then?

Each of these questions is based on a false presupposition. I am assuming that God deals in past, present, and future.

But He doesn’t, does He?

Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I AM!” – John 8:58

Not past, present, or future, but constant and eternal is our God.

And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. – John 17:3

Any Questions?

Dear Lord, help me to remember 2 things:

Who you are and how much we mean to you. In Jesus’ Name, Amen…
