All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. – 2 Timothy 3:17
Today’s recommendation is straight from the Scripture writers, and from God Himself! (Deuteronomy 6:-9) If we want to stand against the wiles of the devil in this difficult life, we have to be able to refute Him with scripture, just as Jesus did! (Matthew 4, Luke 4) If we want to know when we hear someone talk about Christianity and God, whether what they are saying is the truth, we need to understand the nature of God. If we want to be able to offer words of comfort to others, and even to ourselves when the road seems winding and dark, we need to have that scripture at the ready in our hearts and minds!
I recommend starting in the New Testament for a bible read-through, so that as you then follow with the Old Testament you will see be able to see how God’s planned was worked throughout, with Jesus’ fulfillment of each prophecy there.
So go ahead, grab your favorite beverage, snuggle up, get comfy, and commune with your Lord!!
