For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says,
‘The stone that you builders rejected
has now become the cornerstone.’
There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” – Acts 4:11-12
There are so many times when I don’t know what to do. There is not way to fix it. No relief in sight. How will I ever get through it? How?
Maybe you wonder, too?
When the world turns it’s back.
When the pain is too much.
When I feel invisible and useless.
When the results are not good.
When the money is never enough for the bills.
When someone I trusted hurts me.
When I really am alone.
When the silence is deafening.
When my pillow is soaked with tears.
When I’m too tired to keep trying.
There’s one thing I can do that always, always helps.
I just let it all fall apart. I stop trying to hold it together. Hold it in.
And I just say, “Jesus.”
With that one word, I am reminded.
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” – Jesus (John 16:33)
Maybe you don’t know what to pray, either? I understand. I get it. Really, I do.
And there’s someone else who gets it.
Do you know Him?
His name itself is a prayer.
Jesus.
Dear God, help us to remember the only name that matters. Help us to remember that when we utter it, You listen and You know. In Jesus’ Name, Amen…

A beautiful reminder, Shelly. I’ve been thinking about you. I miss our chat times together. I hope you are doing okay. Sending hugs your way. And again, thanks for the reminder that when I don’t know what to pray, Jesus knows and saying His name alone can bring me the comfort and peace I need. Love you. xoxo

Oh yes. “His name alone is a prayer.” Friend, you whisper a truth in your words today that has been a consolation to me through many seasons. I feel the empathy and compassion in your words, how you’ve been here, and so this reminder rings even more powerful in its truth. I’m so grateful for this one-word prayer, for the one behind it who alone truly understands. Bless you.

Amber, your comment has blessed me more than you know. May you feel His comfort as you go into this week. Heart Hugs, Shelly <3
LOVE this! I have been listening to the song “Just Say Jesus”. Sometimes all we can do is whisper the name of Jesus. That is all it takes to bring peace and comfort in a pain-filled day. Thanks for the sweet reminder.
It’s always a comforting thing to know that the tiny bit we are capable of is more than enough. Such power fills His name. So great to see you here, Angela! Heart Hugs, Shelly <3
Something about the name of Jesus reminds me of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz clicking her heals three times. There’s just something about that name that returns us to the place where we belong. Thank you for linking with Unforced Rhythms.
