We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. – 2 Corinthians 10:4
I don’t know about you, but when I think of God’s mighty weapons, I always think of the Bible first.
Maybe this is why:
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. – Ephesians 6:17
How often do we wield this weapon against worry, fear or anxiety? Not nearly often enough, in my case. It’s the best, the sharpest, the most lethal weapon we have at our disposal.
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. – Hebrews 4:12
Don’t leave it sheathed.
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; – 2 Timothy 3:16
I’m dragging my journal out again today. I’m looking at that list I made yesterday, of the weapons I usually go to. Today I’m writing what the Bible says about each weapon I’ve chosen. What I’m finding is that I’m not a very good chooser.
Thank You, God, for the weapon of Your God-Breathed Scripture. Help me to make better choices when I’m needing a weapon against my fear. In Jesus’ Name, Amen…
