“I, yes I, am the one who comforts you.
So why are you afraid of mere humans,
who wither like the grass and disappear?
Yet you have forgotten the Lord, your Creator,
the one who stretched out the sky like a canopy
and laid the foundations of the earth.
Will you remain in constant dread of human oppressors?
Will you continue to fear the anger of your enemies?
Where is their fury and anger now?
It is gone!” – Isaiah 51:12-14
Today, let’s do some good stretching as we remember our Comforter and His might.
Reach to the left, as you remember the canopy of stars God stretched in the night.
Reach to the right, as you recall the horizon stretching as far as the eye can see. He did that.
Stretch your arms above your head, bringing to mind the peaks of the mountains the Creator stretched across the lands.
Try to touch your toes, as you ponder the ocean depths that your Abba stretched within its boundaries.
Lengthen your back as you contemplate the lengths Christ went to, to have you with Him forever.
Rotate your neck as you realize His love that knows no bounds.
Wrap your arms tightly around your own shoulders and pull gently, and feel the release that comes with that hug. Release your fears for the day into your Master’s very capable hands.
Lord God, I don’t know why I’m so afraid. I don’t want to remain in dread and fear. Thank You for loving me as mightily as You do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen…
