Read the Bible Through in 2022: A Little Extra Info

Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path. – Psalm 119:105

If you’re like me, you like to be prepared, right? So I wanted to take just a moment and share with you the Reading Plan we’ll be using and a Bible recommendation. I’ve made the Reading Plan printable so you can keep it around or reprint if you lose track of it (I may or may not have had to reprint mine this year a half a dozen times 😉 )

The Reading Plan we’re using is a Chronological one. I like it because it breaks up some of the more difficult to get through books in the Old Testament, and it also gives me a firmer grasp of Context as we work our way through. Context is key. So here’s Our Plan: DOWNLOAD HERE

For me with my vision issues, some days an audio reading of the passage is a must! If you prefer audio as well, I have a wonderful free app to recommend. You can download it and then choose the chronological reading plan and it follows along with the one you just downloaded! Voila! You can have either a dramatic reading or a normal audio experience and check off each calendar day as you go. Fabulous. Here’s that LINK to APP

If you know of other great apps or resources, feel free to share them in the comments! Just please keep in mind, no commentaries or “other” sources than the Scriptures or those that follow the Scriptures Only.

Lastly, I want to share with you the Study Bible I use and highly recommend! It’s called the Defending the Faith Study Bible, from Apologetics Press. Here is a link to purchase the hardback, but they also have a leather bound version, which is the one I use.
Features include:
• Scores of special sections that cover topics such as God’s existence, Science and the Bible, God’s Justice and Hell, Defending the Bible’s Position on Prayer, Theistic Evolution, and The Bible and Slavery.

• Beautiful, professional artwork, charts, and photographs that accentuate the biblical text and its message.

• One of the most thorough and complete refutations of alleged Bible contradictions and discrepancies on the market today.

• Provides a litany of positive evidences for the inspiration of the Bible, such as documented archaeological discoveries, comparisons of modern scientific findings with the biblical text, and historical evidence that validates the predictive prophecies of the Bible.

• The New King James translation used for the biblical text is an easy-to-read English translation that lends itself to study.

• Provides biblical answers to some of life’s most profound questions such as: Why did God create people? Why do good people suffer? How will it all end?

• A great resource to give to those who will most likely be confronted with skeptical arguments, such as young people, those incarcerated, future church leaders and ministers, and those in increasingly secular parts of the country or the world.
