The Fear of What is Coming
For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. – Ephesians 4:4
Hope for the future. Do you remember what that feels like?
Mostly these days I only feel fear. I fear what is coming. And speaking of ridiculously trite understatements…
So as I was thinking of how I fear what is coming, God brought a glorious truth to mind. I can know what is coming.
Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with power and great glory. – Luke 21:27
Jesus is coming. He’s coming to take me home to a place that has been prepared by His own hands, just for me. He wants me with him for all time. Take that, fear.
I don’t know when He’s coming. Neither do you, or anyone else for that matter.
For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. – 1 Thessalonians 5:2
In fact, only God the Father knows when He’s coming.
“However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows.” – Matthew 24:36
But He is… Coming. And that gives me such peace. No matter what. He is coming.
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.” – John 14:1-3
Jesus, You have such a wondrous way of reminding me to take heart. I love you. In Jesus’ Name, Amen…

Praying for you! I cannot imagine but I know how you love and encourage others! I know how you stay close to God’s word and know that God knows and cares.
I also think of how Jesus knew what was coming. He knew what would happen on the cross and He knew who He was dying for – me… someone who would never deserve His love, someone who would never care for Him the way I should. Someone who would never live the way I need to for Him, but still, He chose to take what was coming…just for me. and you.
You are in my prayers! I pray as you find refreshing moments that you find times of joy, love peace and grace and you can continue to share that with others.

Isn’t that what we cling to, Jesus coming to receive His bride, us! What a sprinkling of love to help remind us that this journey and our decaying bodies are only temporal and that we will one day find eternal rest with bodies without pain and disease and no fear.
Big hug!

Yes He IS coming back for us, and how thankful I am for this beautiful gift. It really does help to keep going, with this truth tucked inside our heart, doesn’t it. ((Hugs))
AMEN! This crumbling “house” will be replaced someday! What a hope! Today’s misery will be distant….Thank God!
