Don’t just come like a slight breeze,
stirring my hair but not my spirit.
Don’t cool the air with a draft,
sliding under the door to chill the coals of my fire.
Don’t puff or gust a stronger wind,
attention-getting in power but dying out when it’s hardly begun.
Don’t send a flurry,
with gusts that show more of an illusion of movement than any actual change.
Don’t allow a hurricane,
in which the eye might lull me into complacency while the floods douse my flame.
No, what I want, Lord…
what I really want is this…
Forego all those,
that just won’t do.
And
Blow. Me. Away.
Father God, I want nothing less than all You have to teach me, no matter what that brings my way. I trust You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen…

Hi Shelly! I really like your prayer, especially the fervent “blow me away.” What a great image! I think we would all like to surrounded, filled and flowing with the Holy Spirit. What great works we could do for him then.

Oh Shelly- you are SO courageous~!
Being willing to go where He sends is not for the timid~!
There was a time in my life when God granted me my dream home. A stunning prayer-garden was built. I loved that place SO MUCH.
BUT God.
One time when I was standing on the porch looking up to the hills, His spirit moved on me and out of my mouth came these words: Lord, I’d give it all up to be in the centre of Your will.
Within 2 months I had a new home, new job, new church !~ People simply didn’t understand and the church I left cut all contact with me.
BUT GOD
had new plans for me and the year after the move was one of the happiest of my life- and the year after that saw a new home, job and church again- and I am in the 7th year now of being so incredibly grateful to God that He moved on me that evening- He didn’t want me ‘comfortable” – He challenged me to a lot of new growth that has seen me more content than ever before, with the immense JOY of knowing He is fulifilling HIS plans and purposes in my life-and I’m loving it.
I will watch and see where He will take you next dear Shelly- knowing it will be onwards and upwards in HIM~!
