Powerless Much?

O our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You.” – 2 Chronicles 2:12

Oh, what a great multitude of trials we face! Some days I think if they would just come one at a time, I could bat them out of the park, no sweat. But this… this is like dodgeball with rocks, and I find myself curled into a ball on the floor, trying to protect the tender areas and vital organs, more days than not.

Powerless much? Only on days that end in Y.

Israel felt that way. “O our God, will you not….” Heal us, cure us, bind our wounds?

For we are powerless before…” The fear, the pain, the loss of ourselves!

Nor do we know what to do…” When the next hit comes out of the blue, when we wake another day in pain, when the longing overwhelms.

But our eyes are on You.” For every breath, in every moment, with faith, hope and love.

Our eyes are on You.

Thank You, Jesus, for never standing where we can’t see You. Guide us continually in Your way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen…

    • Claudia, the way you reach out and hug me tight with each comment… that is so beautiful. All of the words I am given are right from God. I told Him I would write as often and on whatever topics He placed on my heart. So far, it’s been daily, but I’m taking my direction straight from Him. Love you! <3 Heart Hugs, Shelly

    • Love you, Joan, and hope you feel my heart hugs today! <3 Shelly

  2. Shelley, I deeply appreciate Laura Story’s song and your words. Just yesterday I woke with debilitating pain and was forced to ‘rest’.
Any day that ends in Y – love it!! Great humour.

    Thank you for linking up!

  3. Shelly,
Visiting for the first time. You have beautiful and inspiring posts. I was reading about your chronic illness, and I love how you said you are seeing the beauty in the thorns. So powerful and courageous of you! Nevertheless, it is God’s perfect will for us all. Thank you for the encouragement!
