Seek First Project: Prayer is More Powerful Than Terrorism (Day 6)

But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats. – 1 Peter 3:14

The state of the world is a scary thing right now. Christians are under attack, worldwide. Freedoms are threatened, lives are viciously snuffed out, and the rest of the world seeks to soothe the guilty. How crazy is that?

I don’t understand why these things are happening, but I do know these things:
I know they are not the fault of God’s people. (John 15:17-19)
I know that prayers can reshape the world. (James 5:16-18)
I know that God cares and is ever-present with those who call on His name. (2 Chronicles 16:9)
I know that we are never without hope. (2 Peter 1:3-4)
I know that evil can not and will not win. Ever. (John 16:33)

Today I challenge you to spend some time in prayer about the innocent victims the world over. Pray for souls. Pray for safety. Pray about how you can help. Pray for our leaders. Pray for defense. Pray for each other.

Prayer is simply an invitation to talk to God, as a friend reminded me today. Even if all you can do is pour out your grief and fear to Him, do it. That counts. It is the fact that you are turning to Him that matters.

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. – James 5:16
God in the Highest, our hearts are broken, and our fears are right at the forefront lately! Hear our prayers, Lord, and rock this world with Your power and love today. Thank You for the everlasting Hope that is found only in You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen…
