Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3:5-6
We sang this beautiful hymn in our worship service this past Sunday. I was blessed to be there, and I knew I wanted to share this hymn with you. It is such a heart-cry and it really touched me as I offered it back to Jesus.
Are you weary, are you heavy hearted? (O, Lord, am I ever. Yes, to both.)
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus. (He already knows, doesn’t He?)
Are you grieving over joys departed? (I’m pretty sure this song was written for me.)
Tell it to Jesus alone. (Are you sure He needs to hear it?)
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus,
He is a Friend that’s well known. (A friend… Jesus is my friend.)
You’ve no other such a friend or brother, (If that’s not the truth, I don’t know what is.)
Tell it to Jesus alone. (Ok… I’ll talk to Him about it.)
Do the tears flow down your cheeks unbidden? (Almost daily. But what can I do about it?)
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus. (And that will help?)
Have you sins that to men’s eyes are hidden? (Doesn’t everyone?)
Tell it to Jesus alone. (Oh, I get it… He wants us to hand it all to him.)
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus,
He is a Friend that’s well known. (A friend… Jesus is my friend.)
You’ve no other such a friend or brother, (That truth gets more beautiful each time I sing it.)
Tell it to Jesus alone. (Is it weird that I feel lighter already?)
Do you fear the gathering clouds of sorrow? (Oh, yes. Fear and sorrow… I’m well-versed in both.)
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus. (I am, right this moment.)
Are you anxious what shall be tomorrow? (Every day I am.)
Tell it to Jesus alone. (He can solve that, too, can’t He?)
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus,
He is a Friend that’s well known. (A friend… Jesus is my friend.)
You’ve no other such a friend or brother, (Praise Jesus.)
Tell it to Jesus alone. (I’m running to Him now. Are you?)
Dear Lord, the fact that You… YOU… want a friendship, a relationship with me. It leaves me breathless. I give it all to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen…

Shelly, another great devotional! First of all I was rejoicing that you were able to be in church …. HUGE AMEN!!!
And I also love that hymn and I love how you made comments …
and as I read your comments, I was once again saying either, “Amen” or “Me, too!”
Thanks for the reminder to Tell It To Jesus!!
Lots of love and again rejoicing that you were with your church family worshipping the Lord …. JOY JOY JOY!!♡♡♡♡
Barb, thank you for Amening with me! I never take for granted the fellowship time with my brothers and sisters. That is such an indescribable blessing!! It’s sweet of you to recognize that and praise with me! So glad you enjoyed the devo and the song, as well. You are a delight. Love you. Heart Hugs, Shelly
We both have experienced God talking to us through song this week. So grateful He uses many ways to get our attention.

My oldest son has gone missing again- he binge drinks when life overwhelms him- he’s been so good since February but went to visit a friend where he used to live and probably drank with him-it’s so sad !! He’s a doctorate student who knows and loves God but has a disability- his anxiety levels are extreme- part of Asperger’s Syndrome, Please join me in praying he turns up soon.
Telling it all to Jesus Shelly, oh yes, I am leaning heavily on Him tonight.
((((Mary)))) Reaching out with heart hugs and sincere prayer that your son is located soon, and that he is kept safe from harm. Keeping your mother-heart in my prayers, too, Dear One! Love you. Heart Hugs, Shelly <3
So good to be reminded that we can always tell is to Jesus! Thanks, Shelly!
