But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people.” – Luke 2:10
There is a seldom-heard verse to one of my favorite Christmas carols that has become more personal to me in recent years (for obvious reasons).
O ye beneath life’s crushing load,
Whose forms are bending low,
Who toil along the climbing way
With painful steps and slow;
Look now, for glad and golden hours
Come swiftly on the wing;
Oh rest beside the weary road
And hear the angels sing.
Do you hear the angels singing into your life?
Sometimes it is whisper-soft, and easily drowned out by the rush and pain of life. Other times it is a joyous noise, loud and glorious, making the problems of this earth fade to the background.
Either way… Angels. Are. Singing.
They have good news to share, glad tidings of great joy.
Are you listening? Will you sing along?
Sweet Lord, You came to earth. The angels still sing about it. Thank You for the chance to join them in song. In Jesus’ Name, Amen…

Thanks Shelly – it’s one of my favourite carols too, though we don’t often ever get to sing it here these days. Those words you’ve shared do give it a whole new relevance.
Hope you feel truly blessed this Christmas!
